The Stimson Center hosted Brigadier Asad Hakeem and Brigadier Gurmeet Kanwal. Brigadier Hakeem retired from the Pakistan Army in 2005 after thirty-two years of service, including command of a light infantry battalion in Siachen. Brigadier Gurmeet Kanwal retired in 2003 as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence Staff.
